REGISTRUM

How to obtain a company extract in Armenia yourself

A company extract in Armenia is obtained by confirming the entity's registration number, applying to the register that holds company particulars, and paying the fee it sets. The exact channel and fee for a foreign applicant are being confirmed against the primary source; the sequence of steps below does not change once they are.

The self-service route, step by step

A correctly issued extract can still be refused once it reaches a receiving party abroad if a single link in the chain below is out of order, so the sequence matters as much as the speed. The route runs as six links, each depending on the one before it. Skipping a link tends to mean repeating it later, further into the process, at greater cost in time than it would have taken at the start.

  1. First link – identify the entity. Confirm the exact registered name and the registration number before starting anything else. A search by name alone often returns several near matches, and the wrong one carries into every later link, including the wording on the extract itself.
  2. Second link – find the current channel. The register that holds company particulars in Armenia may take requests online, by post, or at a counter. Which of these applies to a given entity type, and whether all three remain open to an applicant outside Armenia, is being confirmed against the primary source for this record.
  3. Third link – submit the request. State the registered name, the registration number, and the extract type wanted, in writing rather than by phone. An imprecise request, more than any other single factor, is the most common cause of delay reported at this link.
  4. Fourth link – pay the fee the register sets. The fee schedule for this record has not yet been confirmed against the primary source. Budget for a figure to be given at the point of application, not for a figure quoted somewhere else and assumed to still apply.
  5. Fifth link – receive and check the extract. On receipt, check the entity name, the registration number, and the date of issue against the original request. An extract issued under a superseded name is a common cause of rejection once it reaches a receiving party abroad.
  6. Sixth link, where the extract will travel abroad – arrange certification. A domestic extract and one carrying an apostille are not the same document for a receiving authority outside Armenia. Confirm whether the receiving party expects an apostille before the extract is issued, not after it has already been collected.

None of these six links requires a document REGISTRUM issues. An applicant holding the registration number, a workable payment method, and time for the queue can complete the whole chain unassisted, from the first search to a certified copy ready to send abroad.

Where a foreign applicant stalls

Four points account for most of the delay reported by applicants applying from outside Armenia.

The first is identity verification. Some channels ask for a local identifier or a signature method the applicant does not hold, and the requirement is easy to miss until the request is already sitting in the queue with no obvious next step.

The second is representation. Whether a locally registered agent is required for a foreign applicant, or whether a direct application is accepted without one, is a point still being confirmed against the primary source for this record. Treat either answer as provisional until it is checked.

The third is payment. A card issued outside Armenia is sometimes declined at a gateway built for domestic transactions, and where that happens a local payment method becomes the only route through this link, which can mean a delay of several days on its own.

The fourth is language. A request drafted only in English can sit unanswered longer than one that also states the entity's name in the script the register uses internally. This does not change what the extract itself will say once it is issued; it only changes how quickly the request moves.

What the extract will and will not contain

The extract states the particulars the register holds at the date of issue: registered name, registration number, legal form, registered address, and current officers, where each of these fields exists on the file.

It does not state who ultimately owns or controls the entity beyond what is filed as a corporate officer. A separate beneficial ownership extract addresses that question, and the two document types are compared against each other here.

It does not assess whether the entity is solvent, whether its filings are current, or whether a named officer still holds the position in practice. The extract reports the file as held, not the facts standing behind it.

Which fields the register in Armenia populates as standard, which are left blank on a routine extract, and which require a separate request, is being confirmed against the primary source for this record.

The alternative to the self-service route

Nothing above requires a document REGISTRUM issues. An applicant with the registration number, a workable payment method, and time for the queue can complete every link unassisted, at no cost beyond the register's own fee once it is known.

Where any one of those three is missing – no local payment method, no time for a queue of uncertain length, or a channel that turns out to require representation – REGISTRUM confirms availability and the fee before an order is placed. If the document does not exist in this jurisdiction or cannot be obtained for you, we say so before you pay and we do not take the order.

How much does the authority in Armenia charge?

The fee for this record has not yet been confirmed against the primary source. Once it is, it will be stated with the date it was checked, and that figure will be applied to any order placed through REGISTRUM without a further check being needed at the point of payment.

Can this be done without a local representative in Armenia?

Whether the register requires a locally registered agent for a foreign applicant is being confirmed against the primary source for this record. Some registers across the region accept a direct application from abroad; others route foreign requests through a licensed registered agent in the jurisdiction. Treat this as open until checked.

How long does the authority in Armenia take?

Processing time depends on the channel used and the queue current at the register on the day of application. A confirmed turnaround figure for this record is not yet available and will be published once it has been checked against the primary source.

Does the extract show whether the company is still active?

Yes, an extract normally states the entity's current status as recorded, alongside the registered name, number, and address. It does not assess whether filings are up to date or whether an officer named on the extract still holds the position in practice at the date of reading.

Yusuf Demir works on apostille, legalisation, and document form across the registers REGISTRUM covers. His method follows the chain a document passes through before a receiving authority accepts it: issue by the register, certification, then legalisation where the destination requires it. He does not assess whether a given receiving party will accept an Armenian extract; he sets out the form and certification the record carries once issued.
