Company extract in Iceland – official record
A company extract – also known as registered particulars – is intended to confirm a company's current legal status in Iceland: its name, registration number, registered address, legal form and recorded officers. The access regime for the underlying register and the current official fee are being confirmed against the primary source before this page states either as fact.
What this document shows
A company extract of this kind sets out the particulars a register holds on a limited company at the date of issue. Name, registration number, legal form, registered address, date of incorporation, current status – active, dissolved, in liquidation – and the officers recorded against the entity at the moment of retrieval: that composition is common to the document family across most jurisdictions REGISTRUM covers.
Some registers extend the extract to share capital, the stated object of the company, or a short history of recent filings; others confine it strictly to the identifying fields above, treating anything further as a separate, chargeable search. Which of these two patterns applies in Iceland, and whether the standard extract includes an officer's full address or only a name, has not yet been confirmed against the primary source for this jurisdiction.
Where a field is confirmed for a specific order, REGISTRUM states it on the order confirmation issued before payment; where a field remains unconfirmed at the point of ordering, the confirmation says so rather than presenting a plausible field list as settled fact. This page therefore describes the general composition of the document type rather than a confirmed Iceland-specific field list.
A related but distinct document – the memorandum and articles – sets out the company's constitution rather than its current particulars; see memorandum and articles in Iceland for that separate record. A corporate secretary checking a counterparty's current status typically orders both together: the extract for who the company presently is, the constitution for what it was formed to do and how it may be governed.
What it does not show
A company extract records status, not standing. It does not assess whether a counterparty is solvent, whether its filings are current, or whether the persons named as officers still hold that role in practice; a change filed the week before retrieval may or may not yet be reflected, depending on how the register processes updates.
It does not show charges, mortgages or security registered against company assets – that sits, where such a register exists at all in Iceland, in a separate charges or land register, not in the corporate extract. It does not show beneficial ownership beyond any officer or shareholder field the extract itself carries; a separate beneficial ownership register, where Iceland maintains one, is a distinct record with its own access terms. It does not show litigation, insolvency proceedings or court judgments against the company; those sit in court records or an insolvency register, not here.
Whether each of these separate registers is open to a foreign applicant, restricted to a local requester, or closed without a stated legitimate interest is itself part of the access regime under verification for Iceland. Until that regime is confirmed, a reader should treat any adjacent register as a separate order with its own terms, not as an extension of this one. See where an entry key blocks a name search for how that kind of restriction shows up in practice.
How it is obtained
The issuing authority for this extract in Iceland is being confirmed against the primary source; REGISTRUM does not name an authority on this page until that confirmation is complete, and the order confirmation sent before payment states the authority precisely for the entity in question.
The official fee charged by the register is likewise being confirmed against the primary source. REGISTRUM's own price for handling the order is fixed and disclosed before payment; the register's own fee, where one applies separately, is disclosed on the order confirmation, dated to the day it was checked.
Normal turnaround under the law in force in Iceland is being confirmed; REGISTRUM's delivery commitment for this document is fixed and stated on the order form, and does not depend on the register's own processing time once the extract has been retrieved. Language of issue – Icelandic, with or without an English-language version – is also under verification; where an English version does not exist as standard, REGISTRUM states this on the order confirmation and quotes any certified translation separately.
Whether a foreign applicant can request the extract directly, or whether the request must go through a licensed registered agent in the jurisdiction, is part of the access regime not yet confirmed for Iceland. Where the confirmed regime requires a national identifier, a local electronic signature or a declaration of legitimate interest, REGISTRUM's registered agent route absorbs that requirement rather than passing it to the reader as a barrier; this is stated on the order confirmation once the regime is confirmed, not implied here in advance. Reuse of the record once issued is on a per-document basis only: the extract is provided for the specific purpose stated on the order, and re-supply for a further purpose is a new order rather than a licence to redistribute the first one.
Price and timeline
Price on request: the fee for this order is confirmed before payment, not stated on this page. Certified translation, courier delivery, a rush turnaround and apostille legalisation are available as add-ons for a certified Iceland extract, each priced and dated separately on the order confirmation once the underlying record is verified. If the document does not exist in this jurisdiction or cannot be obtained for you, we say so before you pay and we do not take the order.
How long does a company extract / registered particulars from Iceland take?
The register's own processing time for this record in Iceland is being confirmed against the primary source. REGISTRUM's delivery commitment for the completed order is fixed and stated on the order form, independent of the register's internal processing once the extract has been retrieved and verified for the entity requested.
Will a Iceland document be accepted abroad without an apostille?
Acceptance abroad depends on the receiving authority's own requirements, not on REGISTRUM. Apostille legalisation is available as an add-on to this order; whether it is the correct route for Iceland, or whether a different form of legalisation applies, is confirmed against the primary source before the add-on is priced. REGISTRUM does not state in advance whether a specific receiving authority will accept the document.
What does a company extract / registered particulars in Iceland not show?
It does not show solvency, charges or security over company assets, beneficial ownership beyond any field the extract itself carries, or litigation and insolvency proceedings; those sit in separate registers with their own access terms. See the limit section above for which structural restrictions apply, and where each adjacent register sits once Iceland's access regime for it is confirmed.
How much does a company extract from Iceland cost?
The fee is confirmed before payment rather than published on this page, because REGISTRUM confirms current pricing and register access for each order individually. State the entity and the date you need the Iceland company document by, and REGISTRUM returns the fee and the delivery commitment before you pay.
Can someone else request a company extract in Iceland on my behalf?
Whether a foreign applicant may request the extract directly, or whether the request must be made through a licensed registered agent in the jurisdiction, is part of the access regime currently under verification for Iceland. Where a local route is required, REGISTRUM's registered agent handles the request without naming an intermediary to the reader.
State the entity, the jurisdiction and the date you need the extract by; we confirm availability and the fee before you pay. Before ordering, you can also follow the step-by-step self-service route Registrum publishes for this record: how to get a company extract in Iceland sets out where to search and what a direct request from the register itself requires. Related documents and guides below cover the constitution, the entry-key barrier common to corporate registers, and how the Iceland company extract differs from a certificate of good standing.
REGISTRUM obtains and delivers official records issued by public registers and licensed registered agents. This page describes what those records contain and how they are obtained. It is not advice on the legal effect of any record. To order, write to info@registrumfirm.com.
