Company extract in Jersey – official record

A company extract – or registered particulars – from Jersey is meant to confirm a company's name, number, status and registered office as held on the corporate register. REGISTRUM checks the current access regime and fee against the primary source before any order is placed. Where the record cannot be obtained as described, we say so first.

What this document shows

A record described as a company extract, or registered particulars, generally sets out the core facts a corporate register keeps on file for an entity. For a Jersey company, a record of this type is expected to cover:

The register's own fee is one line in the eventual total. It is not the whole of it. Apostille, certified translation and courier arrangements are ordered separately from the extract itself, and each is priced on its own terms rather than folded into a single headline figure.

Some registers add officer details to the standard extract. Others hold that information separately, releasing it only on a further request. Share capital, where disclosed at all, sits in the same category: present on some extracts, absent on others, depending on how the register in question structures its public record.

REGISTRUM has not yet confirmed, against the primary source, which of the fields above appear without restriction on the standard Jersey company extract. The access regime for this register is being confirmed against the primary source. Where a field is confirmed as included, the order confirmation states so plainly before payment is taken. Where it is not confirmed, the order confirmation says that too, and no charge follows.

This caution is deliberate. A document ordered on the assumption that a field is present, then delivered without it, fails its purpose at the point it matters most – a filing, a due diligence review, an audit sign-off.

The extract is delivered as a discrete, dated document for a single entity, not as an ongoing subscription or a live feed of the register. A fresh extract, ordered later, reflects the register's position on that later date, not the position at the time of an earlier order for the same Jersey company extract.

What it does not show

A company extract answers a narrow question: what is currently on file at the corporate register. It does not answer the questions that sit around that file.

Beneficial ownership is one. Where Jersey holds a register of beneficial owners, it is a separate record with its own access rules, and this extract does not stand in for it. Financial statements are another. A company extract does not contain accounts, turnover or solvency information, even where the register separately requires filed accounts from some entities.

Litigation and insolvency proceedings sit outside this record too. A winding-up order or a court judgment against the company is held, if at all, by the courts or the insolvency register, not by the corporate register that issues this extract. Tax status – registration, residency, or standing with the revenue authority – is a matter for the tax authority, not the companies register.

Whether any of these adjacent registers are open, restricted, or closed to a foreign applicant in Jersey is not yet settled on our side: the access regime for this register is being confirmed against the primary source. This is not an oversight in the design of the extract; it reflects how registers in most jurisdictions divide information across separate systems.

Where a related register turns out to be closed rather than merely slow, the closure is usually structural: a residency requirement for the requester, a specific entry key rather than a name search, or a court-controlled process for release. REGISTRUM states which of these applies, if any, once the primary source confirms it – not as a general inconvenience, but as the specific reason access is limited.

How it is obtained

The corporate register in Jersey is the issuing authority for this document. REGISTRUM has not yet confirmed the current official fee against the primary source, so no figure is set out here; price on request. Once confirmed, the fee will carry its own verification date, in the same format used across this site – a fee stated as at a named day, not as a standing figure that ages silently on the page.

Normal turnaround with the register itself is being confirmed on the same basis. REGISTRUM's own delivery window for this order sits alongside the order form, once the route is confirmed and the order is placed; it is not folded into this description of the register's process.

Whether the extract is issued in English, and whether a foreign applicant can obtain it directly – without a Jersey-resident representative, a local electronic signature, or a Jersey-specific identifier – forms part of the same confirmation exercise. Where a licensed registered agent in the jurisdiction turns out to be the required route, REGISTRUM arranges that step inside the order; the reader does not need to hold or set up that relationship independently.

Certification for use outside Jersey – an apostille, where the receiving country accepts one – is arranged as an add-on once the base extract is confirmed, rather than assumed as standard on every Jersey company document issued.

Reuse of the delivered document is per document only. It is supplied for the specific matter for which it was ordered, not as a licence to redistribute the record or to hold it as part of an ongoing data feed. A fresh order reflects the register's position on the day it is made, not the day of an earlier one. The certified Jersey extract that leaves our hands carries the register's own certification; anything further, such as an apostille, is a separate step.

Price and timeline

Price on request: the fee has not yet been confirmed against the primary source, so no figure is set out on this page. Apostille, certified translation, courier and rush handling are available as add-ons once the base order is confirmed, each priced and timed on its own terms. If the document does not exist in this jurisdiction or cannot be obtained for you, we say so before you pay and we do not take the order.

How long does a company extract / registered particulars from Jersey take?

The register's own processing time is being confirmed against the primary source, and is not yet stated here. REGISTRUM's delivery window for this order is set out separately, once the route is confirmed and the order is placed. Where rush handling is chosen as an add-on, it shortens REGISTRUM's own part of that window, though it does not change how quickly the register itself processes a request.
